Honeybee Collaboration, on Wood Panel
The pieces in this collection were made in collaboration with thousands of local Ontario honeybees. Using traditional crafts such as embroidery and weaving, these two dimensional works celebrate the beauty of female labour, since the majority of bees in a hive are female. This decade-long interspecies project is a process-led practice, and is both responsive and relational. It is founded on a deep commitment to the well being of honeybees and the surrounding environment. A huge thanks to Master Beekeeper Mylee Nordin for ensuring the wellbeing of our bees at every step.
